I am having such a great time @ FANTASIA! Among the movies I enjoyed this week: Cold In July and Hwayi: A Monster Boy.

Cold In July has a great cast of familiar actors: MICHAEL C. HALL as Richard Dane, SAM SHEPARD as Russel, and DON JOHNSON as Jim Bob. Directed by JIM MICKLE, who co-wrote the script with NICK DAMICI and JOE R. LANSDALE, it keeps us on our toes with one horrific twist after another while being spiced with its own style of dark humor. Richard Dane kills an intruder one hot summer night. Already troubled by becoming the killer of a stranger, he is about to discover no one is who he seems to be, not even him. The whole crowd reveled at this one. We left the theatre smiling.

Hwayi: A Monster Boy stars KIM Yoon-seok  as Seok-tae, YEO Jin-goo as Hwayi, JO Jin-woong as Gi-tae, JANG Hyeon-seong as Jin-seong, KIM Seong-gyoon as Dong-beom, PARK Hae-joon as Beom-soo, a boy and his five fathers. A very unusual Stockholm Syndrome story with unexpected twists and turns.

Je m'amuse tellement au Festival FANTASIA! Parmis les films que j'ai apprécié cette semaine: Cold In July et Hwayi: A Monster Boy.

Cold In July a une excellente distribution d'acteurs reconnus: MICHAEL C. HALL dans le rôle de Richard Dane, SAM SHEPARD dans le rôle de Russel, et DON JOHNSON dans le rôle de Jim Bob. Réalisé par JIM MICKLE, qui est co-auteur du scénario avec NICK DAMICI et JOE R. LANSDALE, le film nous tient sur le qui-vive avec un rebondissement horrifique après l'autre tout en étant épicé de son propre genre d'humour noire. Richard Dane tue un intrus un soir d'été. Déjà boulversé d'avoir causé la mort d'un étranger, il s'apprête à découvrir que personne n'est qui il semble être, pas même lui. Toute la foule s'est réjouit avec ce film. Nous avons quitté le cinéma avec un sourire au visage.

Hwayi: A Monster Boy met en vedette KIM Yoon-seok dans le rôle de  Seok-tae, YEO Jin-goo dans le rôle de Hwayi, JO Jin-woong dans le rôle de Gi-tae, JANG Hyeon-seong dans le rôle de Jin-seong, KIM Seong-gyoon dans le rôle de Dong-beom, PARK Hae-joon dans le rôle de Beom-soo, un garçon et ses cinq père. Une histoire assez originale sur le Syndrome de Stockholm avec des surprises à tous les tournants.
