The new STEVE GALLUCIO and DANIEL ROBY movie starring PATRICK HUARD starts with a bang and never lets up. The wild seventies are powerfully and effectively illustrated by this fast paced movie that recreates a unique era in Montreal. The action begins just before the 1976 Olympics when the world seemed to have opened up endless opportunities for making money and having a good time, and takes us to the early eighties when reality set in once more. PATRICK HUARD's riveting performance is alternately intense or sensitive when it needs to be. He has reached a new plateau in his craft, he is right up there with the big league. He is well supported by a dynamic cast that brings to life the political, and societal dilemmas of a generation. This is not a biographical movie although those who were part of this generation will have some flashbacks on some of the events that occurred around that time like the untimely death of radio star ALAIN MONPETIT and the evocation of DOUGLAS " COCO" LEOPOLD, who was a renowned society columnist and radio personality, contracting AIDS. To add to its air of authenticity, the film is bilingual. A brilliant strategy in our city that is bilingual. The hot disco music kept me right in tempo with the action. I LOVED IT!

Le nouveau film de STEVE GALLUCIO et DANIEL ROBY mettant en vedette PATRICK HUARD commence avec un coup de cannon et n'arrête pas une seconde. Les sauvages années soixante-dix sont puissamment et effectivement illustrées dans ce film qui bouge rapidement pour recréer une époque unique à Montréal. L'action commence un peu avant les Olympiques de 1976 quand il semblait que le monde s'était ouvert sur des opportunités illimitées pour faire de l'argent et s'ammuser, pour nous transporter au début des années quatre-vingt quand la réalité s'installe à nouveau. La performance de PATRICK HUARD est tout à fait fascinante, alternativement intense et sensible aux bons moments. Il a atteint un nouveau plateau d'excellence avec son art et rejoint les grands. Il est bien supporté par un ensemble dynamique qui donne vie aux dilemnes politiques et sociaux d'une génération. Ceci n'est pas un film biographique malgré que ceux qui sont de cette génération se rappelleront certains événements comme la mort mystérieuse de l'annonceur de radio ALAIN MONPETIT et l'évocation de DOUGLAS " COCO" LEOPOLD, qui était un commentateur social et une personnalité de la radio, qui a contracté le SIDA. Pour ajouter à son air d'authenticité, le film est bilingue. C'est une stratégie brillante dans notre ville qui est elle-même bilingue. La musique disco "très Hot mon CoCo" m'a fait danser dans mon siège du début à la fin. J'AI ADORÉ!
