CINEMA DU PARC always offers us movies we would otherwise not have access to. To finish this July and for August, two very exciting series of films will be presented:
First: OF MUSIC AND PAINTINGS from July 27th to August 9th brings together 17 films that honor the creative genius of many renowned painters and musicians starring equally gifted actors. For example, a rarely seen film, Downtown 81, features JEAN-MICHEL BASQUIAT as he walks through the streets of New York will be shown July 29th at 5:15 pm and August 5th at 2:15 pm. One I am looking forward to seeing is CARAVAGGIO playing August 8th at 7:00 pm.
Second: several Japanese film classics will be presented also in later August. These will be shown in Japanese with English subtitles. A most important series is MUSASHI MIYAMOTO'S SAMURAI TRILOGY shown between from the 10th to the 16th of August.
