Last Monday we were treated to a tour of the new pavilions opening at our Museum this Fall. At last, art made in Quebec and Canada over the centuries has a home where it can be appreciated and seen by all. In the Pavilion for Quebec and Canadian art CLAIRE and MARC BOURGIE you will see floor by floor the sweeping movements of creation for each generation until today, from INUIT Art to the era of the MANIFESTO. It is quite impressive to experience this extraordinary evolution in the renovated building of the former ERSKINE CHURCH. The tour then leads us to the magnificent Bourgie Concert Hall, seen above on the left. This room will host all types of musical events in an elegant and intimate atmosphere. Here you can experience the magic of the TIFFANY windows that were completely renovated for the new room.
The permanent Museum collection that boasts illustrious names like REMBRANDT, VERONESE, PICASSO, WARHOL and many others, has also been completely reorganized. The effect is that even paintings I was familiar with now have a fresh look. You must visit these treasures! They are offered to you free, all you need to do is walk in and admire the works of the worlds greatest masters!
Outside the Museum construction is still going on for what will be a most formidable Garden of Sculptures. Newest among them, L'OEIL from renowned Montreal artist DAVID ALTMEJD that you can see now.
Our tour ended in the Pavilion Liliane and David M. Stewart of Decorative Arts and Design, image on the right. It dazzles with color and forms from the modern to the historical, from lamps to jewelry.

Lundi dernier nous avons eu le privilège de visiter les nouveaux pavillons qui ouvrent leurs portes à notre Musée cet automne. Enfin, l'art Québécois et Canadien réalisé dans les derniers siècles a une place pour être vu et apprécié de tous. Dans le Pavillon pour l'art Québécois et Canadien CLAIRE et MARC BOURGIE vous verrez étage par étage les grands mouvements de création de chaque génération jusqu'à ce jour, de l'art INUIT jusqu'à l'époque des MANIFESTOS. C'est très impressionnant de vivre l'extraordinaire évolution de la création d'ici dans l'édifice complétement renouvellé qui était avant L'ÉGLISE ERSKINE. La visite se termine dans la Salle de Concerts Bourgie, vu à gauche. Cette salle sera la scène de plusieurs événements musicaux de tous genres qui auront lieu dans une ambiance élégante et intime. Ici vous pourrez admirer la magie des vitraux TIFFANY qui ont été complètement restaurés pour cette pièce.
La collection permanente du Musée, qui vante des noms illustres tels REMBRANDT, VERONESE, PICASSO, WARHOL et tant d'autres, a été complètement réorganisée. L'effet est que même les toiles connues prennent une nouvelle allure. Vous devez visiter ces trésors! Ils vous sont offert gratuitement, tout ce que vous devez faire c'est entrer et admirer le travail des plus grands maîtres du monde!
Autour du Musée, encore en construction, il y aura un formidable Jardin de Sculptures. La plus récente oeuvre, L'OEIL de l'artiste Montréalais de renommé DAVID ALTMEJD, est maintenant en vue pour tout le monde.
Notre visite s'est terminée au Pavillon Liliane et David M. Stewart des Arts décoratifs et Design, l'image à droite. Il éclate de couleurs et de formes du moderne à l'historique, des lampes aux bijoux.
