Theories, Methods and Practices of Research-Creation in the Histories of Media Art, Science and Technology
If you enjoyed "The Future of Storytelling'' this summer, you will really enjoy this symposium on the latest practices in multimedia art offered by HEXAGRAM a program offered by both UQAM and Concordia Universities.
"Originating in Québec, Research-Creation is part of the growing global movement in university research contexts to embrace creative practice as a legitimate form of knowledge production within new knowledge societies. Research-Creation is a developing research trend linking the interpretive disciplines (humanities and social sciences) with creative ones (art and design) that involves the creation of knowledge in and through creative material and performative practice."
These phrases resume perfectly the research and questioning points of that will be covered during the symposium by many prestigious guests. Among them CHRISTINE VAN ASSCHE from the Pompidou Centre in Paris, JOAN JONAS the 2015 American artist representing the US at the Venice Biennale of this year.

Si vous avez aimé "Les Nouveaux Sommets du Récit" cet été, vous allez vraiment apprécier ce colloque sur les pratiques les plus innovatrices en art multimédia offert par HEXAGRAM un programme offert conjointement par UQAM ainsi que l'Université Concordia.
"La recherche-création trouve son origine dans un contexte québécois. Elle fait partie d’un mouvement mondial de recherche universitaire sans cesse croissant visant à légitimer la pratique créative comprise comme la production de nouvelles connaissances pour les sociétés du savoir. Le concept de recherche-création met de l’avant un modèle intégré de théorie et de pratique ainsi que d’expérimentation et de création reliant les disciplines interprétatives (sciences humaines) et créatives (arts et design)."
