This week you can see many movies about our universal concern for the environment at CINÉMA DU PARC, for details follow link on the left. I saw EVEN THE RAIN with LUIS TOSAR and GAEL GARCÍA BERNAL. The film is written by PAUL LAVERTY and directed by ICÍAR BOLLAÍN. I loved this excellent movie that deals with a wide range of global issues not only about sharing water with all human beings, but also about the impact of privatization, and the unusual place making movies has taken in the human culture. For example a movie star playing the part of a brain-surgeon will earn more money on one film than a dozen full-fledged brain-surgeons who shove their hands in people's brains and actually save their lives ever will. I adore movies, but I do find this weird of us. The story is fictional but happens around an actual event that occurred in 2000 in Bolivia when the government attempted to privatize the use of water to the great detriment of the poorest citizens who were not even allowed to gather the water from rainfall. It pits a film crew's schedule to get their film done against a public rebellion. Again the cinematography is superb, the acting deep and effective.
You will be moved.

J'ai vu MÊME LA PLUIE avec LUIS TOSAR et GAEL GARCÍA BERNAL. Le film est écrit par PAUL LAVERTY et réalisé par ICÍAR BOLLAÍN. J'ai adoré ce film excellent qui se préoccupe d'un large champ de questions autour de la globalisation, non seulement celles du partage de l'eau pour chaque être humain, mais aussi de l'impact de la privatisation, et la place inusité qu'a pris le cinéma dans notre culture humaine. Comme example, une vedette de cinéma qui joue le rôle d'un chirurgien-neurologue gagnera plus d'argent sur un seul projet qu'une douzaine d'actuels chirurgiens-neurologues qui entrent leurs mains dans la tête du monde pour vraiment leur sauver la vie gagneront dans toute une carrière. J'adore les films, mais je trouve cela étrange de notre part tout de même. L'histoire est fictive et se déroule autour d'un événement qui est réellement arrivé en 2000 en Bolivie quand le gouvernement a tenté de privatiser l'usage de leau au grand détriment des citoyens les plus pauvres qui n'avaient même pas le droit de récupérer l'eau de pluie. Une confrontation émerge entre une équipe de film qui veut terminer son projet selon sa cédule et un rébellion du publique. Encore une fois, la cinématographie est superbe, le jeu des comédiens profond et efficace.
