If you don't know DALE CHIHULY already, you will now have the opportunity to see what the fuss is all about! He is totally brilliant but because he has such commercial success the art world is on the fence about him being included in the elite. Walking through his installations is being with Alice in wonderland, one detail then another beckons for your attention. At first you will be dazzled by the colors and the light, but the pieces are also rich with surprising components like a tiny crystal starfish, an angel with open wings, hue variations that vibrate.

There will be a few interesting free conferences on similar subjects:
THE ART DECO DAZZLE OF SCHNEIDER GLASS wednesday June 12 at 6:00 pm and THE ESSENTIAL DALE CHIHULY Saturday June 15 at 2:00pm, and a few excellent movies.
Dale Chihuly at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts until October 20 2013.

And above all else, he is a warm open interesting orator who took the time to walk with us through the exhibit, answering our questions, and letting us take many photographs.

Si vous ne connaissez pas encore DALE CHIHULY vous aurez l'opportunité de découvrir pour vous même l'oeuvre de cet artiste géniale mais controversé par le milieu artistique parce qu'il connait une réussite commerciale fulgurante. Se promener dans ses installations c'est allé avec Alice au pays des merveilles, un détail puis un autre nous interpelle. D'abord éblouissantes de couleurs et de lumières les pièces et les formes sont riches en éléments surprenants telle une petite étoile de mer en cristal, un ange aux ailes déployées, des variations de teintes en vibrations.

Il y aura une conférence gratuite sur un sujet relié: LE VERRE, COMME L'ESPRIT, EST DOUÉ DE MÉMOIRE  Mercredi le 19 juin à 18h ainsi que plusieurs films magnifiques sur Chihuly et d'autres artistes qui travaillent le verre.

Et surtout, c'est un homme chaleureux ouvert intéressant qui s'est promené avec nous dans l'exposition, qui a répondu à nos questions, et qui nous a laissé prendre des multitudes de photos.
