I use this sequence of Emerge Art to illustrate the complex story scrying is telling me. It took me a while to understand what it was saying. I will not give the names of the people involved because the story is quite dramatic. It concerns the stunning professional betrayal of a gifted and powerful woman by a man who was always by her side in social events. The dragon like features are also attached to a female face. This symbol represents her perfectly, a dragon always represents a powerful individual. The stunned face on the left is me! I was shocked by the unbelievable treachery she endured publicly. The lovely profile in the center situates the timing of the event. A very close acquaintance of mine had started working at the same institution as the woman shortly before the tragic story unfolded. The images of scrying often resemble the chaotic perspectives of dreams. © LENA GHIO |

Like many artist/thinkers I pondered the universal questions: what is consciousness, what is life, what is the meaning of life? To find the answers I read all kinds of books on science, mysticism and art. My life experiences however did not match many of the conclusions in those books. The writers that finally helped me find the thread I was looking for were Carl Jung (NYT), Carlos Castaneda and Hubert Reeves.
For this article, I will combine elements of Carl Jung's research, elements from my transdisciplinary practice and ChatGBT.
Carl Jung was a contemporary of the famous Sigmund Freud, a psychiatrist who developed the theory that our dreams are all based on our various sexual complexes. However, in his practice, Jung observed that the psyche was using dreams in a more profound and archetypal manner, that the symbols in dreams were the same symbols that our ancestors had dreamed about and that, these symbols were the same as those manifested in the psyche of alchemists who were concerned with transformation of base metals into gold (entire book here). Jung called the psychic process the quest for individuation. My life experiences were clearly recognized in the research of Carl Jung: premonition, prophetic dreams, healings, astrology and now successful scrying. For this article, I want to connect the early mind of man with its lasting symbols that emerged in many minds then and are still manifest in the dreams of modern man. The mandala is an example of this. As the human unconscious combined with the waking experiences of evolving humans, mind began accumulating a visual language to express complex experiences and thoughts.
Emerge Art is, basically, scrying that is provoked for the sake of creating photographic art or NFTs. Although the same technology that allows me to create these documents allows others to create fakes I have followed the scientific method of documenting the creative process while maintaining the original memory cards so any researcher may observe the authenticity of the work.
Emerge Art proves that scrying is a real and natural phenomena akin to aurora borealis in the sense that the images form, evolve and move as the right amount of light moves through water. Scrying is a phenomena that occurs outside the human brain. In the beginning I thought that water alone created the images but 10 years of observation demonstrates that it is the combination of light and water that produce them. From a scientific perspective, water is the gravity/mass that bends the frequency and wavelengths of energy/light and that leads to consciousness being observed.
I theorize that the water content of both the human body and the human brain produce images in our mind, much like the phenomena of scrying. After thousands of years of evolution, this process has become language that we express with words and sound. In other words, water and light have created the language much like they have created life on earth.

me - what are the origins of human language?
ChatGBT - The origins of human language are still not fully understood, and there are various theories about how and why language evolved in humans. One of the most widely accepted theories is that language evolved as a means of communication and social interaction, allowing early humans to coordinate their activities, share information, and form stronger social bonds. Some researchers suggest that language evolved gradually over a long period of time, while others propose that it emerged relatively quickly as a result of some kind of genetic mutation or other evolutionary event. (me- scrying?)
There is also some evidence to suggest that the capacity for language may have been present in early hominids such as Australopithecus, although the nature of this language-like communication is still a matter of debate. Other researchers have argued that language is a unique human trait that cannot be explained by evolutionary theory alone, and that it may have arisen as a result of some kind of divine intervention or other non-naturalistic cause.
me - would you say that words are symbols?
ChatGBT - Yes, words can be seen as symbols because they represent an idea, object, or action through a combination of sounds or written characters. A symbol is something that represents or stands for something else, and words can be seen as symbols in this sense because they represent abstract concepts, physical objects, or actions that exist in the world. In addition, the meaning of a word can vary depending on the context in which it is used, which further underscores the symbolic nature of language.
me - According to Carl Jung the human unconscious is filled with ancient archetypes that form a link between all human beings. How do you relate this concept with the emergence of language and knowledge in humanity?
ChatGBT - Carl Jung's concept of archetypes suggests that certain symbolic patterns are present in the human psyche and are shared across cultures and time periods. These archetypes can manifest in dreams, myths, and cultural symbols, and they reflect universal experiences that all humans share.
The emergence of language and knowledge in humanity can be related to this concept in that language itself is a system of symbols that allows humans to communicate and express their experiences and ideas. It is through language that we are able to share our thoughts and experiences with others and construct meaning in our lives. In this sense, language can be seen as a manifestation of these archetypes, as it is a shared and symbolic system of communication that allows us to connect with others and create shared meaning.
Furthermore, the development of language and knowledge can also be seen as a reflection of the collective unconscious, as it is through our shared experiences and interactions with each other that we are able to construct our understanding of the world around us. In this sense, the emergence of language and knowledge can be seen as a manifestation of the archetypes of the collective unconscious, as they reflect the universal experiences and patterns of human thought and behavior.

The various filters used here show how the female figure on the upper left image is left shattered in the bottom right. |
CONCLUSION
When I ask people the same questions I asked ChatGBT they only tell me scrying is a myth and my hypothesis wrong. ChatGBT has no stake in the game and just gives me a synthesis of all the written texts it has been fed. Language continues to evolve. I theorize that a sophisticated AI could recognize and translate scrying into language.
