This fall the CCA presents the exhibition IMPERFECT HEALTH: THE MEDICALIZATION OF ARCHITECTURE. Once again MIRKO ZARDINI and GIOVANNA BORASI have compiled an exhibition that shows the depth of thought of contemporary architecture. It is no secret that the modern urban dweller is obsessed with his health whether he possesses it or hopes to gain it. The main question of the exhibit is what role can architecture play to improve the health of the citizens of the modern world? Some intriguing concepts involve making stairs more appealing to climb for inhabitants of apartment buildings, to arrange doorways in retirement homes so the tenant can open it as an invitation to others in the retirement community that they can come in for a visit, and various concepts were presented to address the issue of pollution and how it affects allergies.

I was very impressed with the beauty and cleanness of the complex presentation. There are many interesting articles posted at the entrance of the various cubicles describing health issues dealt with in the exhibition. It is a good thing to plan a few hours for your visit to really get into it.

Cet automne le CCA présente l'exposition EN IMPARFAITE SANTÉ: La médicalisation de l'architecture. Encore une fois MIRKO ZARDINI et GIOVANNA BORASI ont compilé une exposition qui nous montre la profondeur de la pensée en architecture contemporaine. Ce n'est pas un secret que les citadins modernes sont obsédés par leur santé qu'il la possède ou la désire. La question centrale de l'exposition est: quel rôle doit jouer l'architecture pour amméliorer la santé des citoyens du monde présent? Quelques concepts intriguants impliquent de rendre l'ascension des paliers d'escaliers plus attirants pour les habitants d'édifices à appartements, d'arranger les embrasures entre les espaces personnels dans les foyers de retraités pour que les habitants puissent les ouvrir en signe d'invitation aux autres et qu'ils sont disponibles pour accueillir leurs amis. Plusieurs autres concepts s'adressent aux problèmes de la pollution et des allergies.

J'ai été très impressionnée par la beauté et la netteté de la présentation complexe. Il y a plusieurs articles très intéressants affichés sur les babillards entre les différents espaces concernant les différents problèmes de santé inclus dans l'exposition. C'est une bonne chose de prendre quelques heures pour effectuer la visite et vous y plonger.
