I LOVE MONTREAL NEWS! + La Nuit Blanche 2019

A Thierry Mugler original!

There is a lot happening in March! To launch the month La Nuit Blanche, an annual event that allows you to visit endless cultural activities throughout the wee hours of the night on March 2nd. Many events listed here will be ongoing.

• The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts offers a great opportunity to visit the latest exhibition featuring the stunning works of renowned fashion icon Thierry Mugler "THIERRY MUGLER: CREATURES OF HAUTE COUTURE" at half-price this March 2nd. I am preparing a more in depth article but let me just say FA-BU-LOUS!!! But there are more activities at the Museum for La Nuit Blanche check this link

I also visited the exhibition A Model in the Studio
Montreal 1880-1950 curated by Jacques Des Rochers, curator of Quebec and Canadian Art (before 1945). EXQUISITE! Below I share my favorite drawing by Ernst Neumann. It is just perfect! Several characters unite around the central form, the shading and highlights are at perfect pitch and the details just captivate me. It is a very small drawing and that is surprisingly difficult to do.

• Art Souterrain has its official launch on the night of La Nuit Blanche  ← This year the theme of the event is Le Vrai du Faux where artists from here and around the world question what is real from what is fake. Very compelling stuff that will surprise you! The event is ongoing until will March 24.

• The exciting Centre Phi is offering an exciting event for La Nuit Blanche:

On March 2, Phi invites festivalgoers to experience 2040: Year/After during this year's Nuit blanche à Montréal.

-A contemplative installation, musical performances, a tasting station and more: the Phi Centre’s 2040: Year/After event invites spectators to look ahead twenty years in the future.

• News about the MAC’s activities in 2019
On April 9, 2018, the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal (MAC) unveiled the premise of its major transformation project, along with the new Musée’s preliminary plans, designed by Quebec-based architectural consortium Saucier+Perrotte Architectes/GLCRM & Associés Architectes. With construction work slated to begin in 2019, the project’s partners reviewed the schedule presented as part of this announcement after further analysis. The new schedule’s details will be announced in the next few months. In the meantime, the MAC is thrilled to announce that it will continue to offer its activities in its current facilities on Sainte-Catherine Street until fall 2020. Until the launch of its next exhibitions in summer 2019, the MAC will continue to offer some of its activities, including the March Break Day Camp, from March 4 to 8, 2019; the SéminArtseducational program, which will feature three new series this winter; as well as the Fondation du MAC’s events, including the next edition of Les Printemps du MAC in April. The MAC will soon make a more detailed announcement on its summer schedule.
HAVE FUN EVERYBODY!!!!
