Pour l'humain contemporain, la sécurité et l'avenir sont attachés aux valeurs boursières, aux possessions matérielles, et les soucis sont étouffés par les distractions abondantes de notre époque. Même les personnes qui pratiquent assidûment leur religion sont souvent ignorantes de la force vitale qui a jadis nourri les mots qu'ils se répètent et sur lesquels ils édifient leurs existences.
Je vous propose l'excellente conférence offerte par PAUL ARDENNE et BARBARA POLLA sur le sublime dans l'art actuel. Difficile à définir mais essentiel à notre identité, les conférenciers nous en offrent plusieurs points de vue venant d'artistes actuels à la recherche de l'âme.
La nouvelle image en tête de mon blog est intitulée DEATH DEFIER et je voulais vous en raconter l'inspiration. Un concept qui émerge de fragments de connaissances reconstituées des anciennes cultures des Amériques: les Toltèques, les Olmèques, les Aztèques, les Mayas. Maîtres du temps, certains guerriers devenaient des sorciers qui tournaient leur regard vers l'éternité. Leur mission: créer un pont entre le monde des humains et celui des Dieux. Pour cela ces guerriers-sorciers devaient devenir de féroces amoureux de la vie. Le pouvoir de cet amour, seulement, leur donnerait l'audace de vaincre tous les défis que les puissances de l'univers envoient aux humains: la pauvreté, la maladie, la solitude et la mort. À chaque victoire, le guerrier-sorcier accumule ses trophées, ces objets qu'il offrira au gardien de l'éternité pour obtenir son corps impérissable avec lequel il traversera l'infini.
La figure au centre est une guerrière-sorcière qui a réussi sa transmutation. L'Esprit veille sur elle constamment. Elle porte ses trophées, gains de plusieurs victoires sur les coups de la vie. L'univers lui ouvre le chemin pendant qu'il soutient ses pas alors qu'elle avance.

Even people who practice their religions with reverence are often ignorant of the vital force that once inspired the words they repeat to themselves and on which they edify their existences.
Contemporary artists are revisiting our concepts of the divine because, whether we admit it or not, it is vital to who we are to comprehend the soul that animates us.
The new image header of my blog is entitled DEATH DEFIER and I wanted to enlighten you on its inspiration. A concept that emerges from reconstituted fragments of knowledge of the ancient cultures of the Americas: the Toltec, the Olmec, the Aztec, and the Maya. Masters of time, some warriors became sorcerers who would turn their gaze towards eternity. Their mission: to create a bridge between the world of humans and that of the Gods. For that these warrior-sorcerers had to become fierce lovers of life. It is only the strength of this love that would give them the daring to overcome all the challenges that the powers of the world send to humans: poverty, illness, solitude and death. With each victory, the warrior-sorcerer accumulates his trophies, those objects he will offer the guardian of eternity to obtain his imperishable body with which he will traverse infinity.
The figure at the center is a warrior-sorceress who has succeeded her transmutation. Spirit watches over her constantly. She wears her trophies, rewards for her many victories over the knocks of life. The universe opens the way for her while it supports her steps as she advances.
