AGAPE is the highest form of devoted and selfless love.
Augusto, a journalist and coach, and Paulina, an actress, have been together in Chili for 25 years. Augusto has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's eight years already. The movie follows the deeply personal effect of this disease on the couple and the steps they take so Augusto will not forget his wife.
I am so profoundly moved by the gentleness they show each other everyday.
Love is the greatest mystery of all of our lives. There is no way to enjoy it without eventual loss and grief. Queen Elizabeth II said upon losing her husband Prince Philip:" Grief is the cost of love."
What this movie shows us is no doubt the ending of a wonderful marriage, but it is full of what I call Spirit, that force that makes us rise above all else. The cinematography is excellent and supports what is shared in this love story.
