ANSELM 3D @ Cinéma du Parc • Montreal

TRAILER

FRANÇAIS app de traduction à gauche

Anselm Kiefer and Wim Wenders are compatriots born only a few months apart in 1945 Germany. While Wenders became a celebrated filmmaker, Anselm went into the depth of the post war German psyche to pull out truths, through his creative process, that the people stubbornly blocked out. You will get a sense of the origins of the materials he uses to create his textured paintings as you see clips of children playing in the rubbles that were left behind by the ferocious Second World War. You will get a sense of his Spirit as he reads Death Fugue by the poet Paul Celan

It is impossible to resume in a few words the immensity of Anselm's works and processes. The 3D movie will definitely give you an apprehension of the magnitude of his space, his accomplishment, his addiction to his work.

Here is a wonderful talk by Wim Wenders about Anselm Kiefer and his 3D movie you can see this week in Montreal at Cinéma du Parc. It is a a limpid film that reminds me of looking inside a crystal ball.

DO NOT MISS THIS FILM!
