tableau d'hôte theatre is now presenting Angélique by the late Lorena Gale at the Segal Centre.
What a gorgeous presentation of such a sad and disturbing story about a young salve hanged in Montreal in 1734 for setting a fire in a merchants home.
The cast is exquisitely selected: Jenny Brizard is Angélique, a young woman anxious about being a slave and victim of sexual abuse while as a human being she is trying to find what happiness she can. Karl Graboshas and France Rolland play the owners of Angélique, François and Thérèse; Olivier Lamarche, Darla Contois, Chip Chuipka and Tristan D. Lalla round up the cast. Mike Payette, the director, did yet another brilliant job in transmitting this complex story.
All this praise being said, an extra dimension is added with SIXTRUM Percussion Ensemble who introduced an original composition as a live soundtrack the works fluidly to enhance the magic of the show! They are in the background and its gorgeous!
A HUGE SUCCESS that I hope you will enjoy!
