I have been studying astrology in my own way since the last millennium. My way of understanding the various definitions of planets, signs and other objects of a birth chart has always been to put them in perspective with the lives of famous people and to compare the celestial events to the events in their lives. This approach has permitted me to compare what astrology means with what we now know about the forces of the world via physics. It is my understanding that any Theory Of Everything must include our individual lives and collective lives.
This year's US midterm elections will be pivotal for many reasons. While many people are blinded to President Donald Trump's misdeeds, the law seems to be closing in on him and plenty of Americans want him impeached. As it stands, if Trump does get impeached, it would be Vice President Mike Pence who would be promoted to commander in chief. While going through videos on YouTube I found this CNN interview with Michael D'Antonio who wrote "The Shadow President", co-written with Peter Eisner, where he takes an in depth look at Pence. I found that D'Antonio's insights are supported by Pence's birth chart. Below is the synastry chart between Donald Trump and Mike Pence. Pence's time of birth is not known but it is not needed for this study since I am only concerned with the role of both men on the political stage and Trump's chart is the most important here.

HOW TRUMP AND PENCE FIT TOGETHER
The two are similar on certain points: both are Gemini, both have Mars in Leo. For Mike Pence the eccentricity and wealth of Trump (Trump: Sun conjunct North Node, conjunct Uranus in house 10; trine Jupiter in Libra house 2) electrify Pence's ego symbolized by the Sun and thought processes symbolized by Mercury (Pence's Sun conjunct Mercury on Trump's previous aspects). He feels exuberant optimism about joining the Trump ticket in 2016 for the position of VP. Anyone of us with this alignment would feel exalted by such an apparent opportunity. Pence's Uranus operates in Trump's 12th house. This represents how Mike Pence introduced the influence of wealthy and prominent preachers to the campaign and now the presidency. In Pence's birth chart Saturn is opposed to the Moon. This makes him unpopular on the larger stage of politics, he is reserved, awkward and unconvincing. Pence has a powerful mother complex (Moon opposition Saturn) spiced with latent homosexual preoccupations he totally dissociates from. In his birth chart Mars conjunct Venus square Neptune is one of the astrological signatures of homosexuality. His inner complexes affect his policies and that is problematic. He sincerely believes that God wants him to reform the country, and Donald Trump, to fit scripture BUT the republic is built on a division of church and state policy as outlined in the first amendment of the constitution. Trump also believes he is there to fulfill a "divine" mission although his mission appears to be making money. Interestingly when they formed the ticket in mid-July 2016, Saturn was square Neptune and that represents dubious practices all around. I find it so odd that evangelicals are threatening US citizens with the wrath of God if they vote the GOP and Trump out of power.
On the other hand, Pence perceives himself as a solid intellectual. He sincerely believes he will outsmart Trump and all of us. Pence hates Trump's communicative style. He sees him as superficial, unreliable, moody and lazy. Yet, he is so bedazzled by Trump's big personality that he broke with his own standards to march alongside the president he does not admire as much as he claims. He sold his soul. What struck me next is that Mike Pence's Saturn is square Donald Trump's Neptune a pattern that resurfaces during the presidency so far.

THE 2018 MIDTERM ELECTIONS
On that same day, November 6 2018, Mike Pence is having a Saturn return Saturn aspect, that represents a major shift in anyone's life, while Trump is experiencing Saturn square Neptune. From astro.com Mike Pence's Saturn conjunct Saturn:

Mike Pence has also embarked on a long transit of Neptune square Sun that began in April 2018 and will last until December 28, 2019. From astro.com:

This aspect will eventually catch up with Trump but in a few years as his Sun is several degrees later. They cannot loose their jobs during the midterm elections but the planets suggest they will loose power. I prefer to quote an astrological text so you will verify objectively what the planets mean as opposed to any bias I may have. What is important so we can learn from this analysis is to observe what the two men will do and say and measure it against what the planetary alignments mean. If they manage to rise above the incredible pressures of the times it could be impressive.
