Gareth Edwards director and co-writer with Chris Weitz wrote this dystopian futuristic movie where AI and robotics have become sentient and are fighting for their right to live. This movie proposes a twist to the "robot versus human" conflict to be uncovered at the end of the escape adventure.
The film opens on a romantic scene between a man, Joshua played by John David Washington, and his pregnant wife, Maya played by Gemma Chan. We soon notice that Joshua is an amputee who is fitted with cybernetic replacements while Maya, is pregnant.
What impressed me the most about this movie is the imaginative technology concepts that are explored. I was lucky to see it in IMAX, and if you have a chance to see it in IMAX I do recommend it. The model of the AI robots evokes some of the features of the AI robots of Steven Spielberg's A.I. Artificial Intelligence. The command to destroy all AI robots is launched by the army when a bomb explodes in Los Angeles.
The Creator is a mysterious unknown person genius who is rumored to have developed the ultimate weapon to end all war. Joshua, an ex-special forces agent, is recruited by the military to find and destroy both the Creator and the weapon.
I enjoyed the performance of Allison Janney as Colonel Howell. The performances are convincing, the cinematography excellent. A lot of action, tension and emotions throughout the adventure.
In theatres now.

A South Korean mystery where wizards and demons possess a little girl. Kim Seong-sik is the director of this fantastic film with a quest for power at its heart, a talisman. Gang Dong-Won plays Dr Cheon, a fake exorcist with a sidekick, Kang Do-ryung played by Lee Dong-hwi until he is recruited by Yoo-kyung played by Esom to save her possessed sister Yoo-min played by Park So-yi.
A mix of humour, fight scenes, fantasy and mythology swirl into a dazzling series of confrontations and battles of good versus evil while the protagonists attempt to regain an ancestral amulet. Again, the gorgeous supernatural beings just charm me. I love asian cinema, so exotic.
You can now see it on the big screen everywhere and I hope you do!
