TRAILER |
Next, a young woman is walking in a broken down desolate place towards the general store. I am instantly taken aback by the original set design, costume design and make-up of the characters that are situated in a dirty atmospheric and gloomy carnival. These elements are striking and devilishly appealing. As the troop travels through the countryside, Seven, John Adams, has flashbacks from his time on the WWI front. Gruesome victims of war are recreated.
This only sets the stage for the shocking events that unfold! The film is slow moving, poetic and effective. The performances are low keyed. Gore and murder to heavy rock music keep the story advancing.
The Adams Family: Toby Poser, Zelda Adams and John Adams: had produced one of my favorite movies in Fantasia Fest 2021, Hellbender. (trailer) What I love about their style is that it looks so familiar yet it breaks through known stereotypes. In this movie, another Adams joins the team, Lulu Adams.
The movie was awarded a Cheval Noir Award for Best Cinematography at Fantasia Fest and Total Film Award at FrightFest for Best Film and Best Director(s).
If you love scary movies, this one will keep you bewildered until the very end! The theatrical release November 3rd in theaters across the United States, and its digital release to Rent and Buy at home November 7th on cable and digital platforms.
