As I write this the impeachment investigation has been announced a little over a week ago. Not surprisingly, the impeachment investigation is pushed forward by a whistleblower and accompanied by massive efforts to hide the truth, to disinform the people and to evade the law.

This is explained in the brief article I wrote about his Solar Return. But now midway through this Solar Return Saturn will oppose his native Saturn. In other words it is the time of KARMA!

He could possibly go through it with strength and purpose but from what we know of him he will go through it with cruelty and spite. Saturn in Capricorn is joined by Pluto in Capricorn to oppose his Saturn in Cancer. The stakes could not be higher.

He will face serious reorganization of all his affairs. He will suffer losses and we will continue to see leaks from his unfortunate White House.

I know it is easy to see him as the poor victim, he sees himself that way, but he has been insulting, demeaning and cheating people all his life. You get back what you put in. Whatever happens is something he has worked very hard to get while feeling himself above everyone and above the law.

My understanding of how the planets work shows me that on January 21 2020 he will collapse.

In 2016 water shows a symbol that reminds me of the Constitution of the United States. In the 2019 image, the bird pokes out Trump's eye and poops in Bill Barr's eye. Bill Barr's betrayal of his duty to his country will come back to haunt him. What none of these stooges get is that Trump does not care about any of them no matter how much they suck up to him. HE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU! People who suck up to him are a dime a dozen in his world!

Everything will be in turmoil because he will leave office after sabotaging everything he can out of spite.

OFFICIAL SECRETS

TRAILER
A riveting drama based on true events preceding the war on Iraq. Today it is common knowledge that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and that the Bush family wanted to exact revenge on Saddam Hussein for the first Iraq war in the early 90s. Destroying countries in the Middle East and killing hundreds of thousands was not an issue for them. What is common knowledge is also the fact that Iraq had nothing to do with the 9 11 tragedy perpetrated by Al-Qaeda.

Katherine Gun ( Keira Knightley) is a British intelligence specialist who comes upon a memo describing an intent by the American government to blackmail UN representatives into voting for the war. Being antiwar herself she is compelled to make the memo public.

The script is solid and the momentum of the film tense as high powered government officials in British and US government want this kept under wrap.

There is a great cast with Matt Smith as Martin Bright the reporter who publishes the memo; Ralph Fiennes as Ben Emmerson the lawyer who defended Gun; Matthew Goode as Peter Beaumont, Indira Varma as Shami Chakrabarti and Conleth Hill as Roger Aton.

The story is enraging especially now that the truth is known about the Iraq war and the dubious character of the current US administration.

Un Grand Voyage la Nuit

BANDE ANNONCE

September 2019 exhibitions in Montreal

On August 27 2019 we were greeted by (left to right)  Samira Damato, exhibitions manager and curator for World Press Photo Amsterdam, Matthieu Rytz, producer of the World Press Photo Montreal exhibition and Monia Chokri this year's spokesperson,  a filmmaker, screenwriter and actress presenting her exhibition Crépuscule amour, je te sais intime. What is fascinating year after year with the World Press Photo exhibition is that it resumes life on Earth in an uneasy capsule of color texture and profundity. This year I was happy to see a larger concern with the climate crisis and the issue of pay equality for women. At this time, every second of life is taking us closer to a catastrophic point of no return.

Yet the human spirit is still strong! As we see and read the extraordinary challenges of all manners of people around the world we witness courage and resilience.

Bénédice Kurzen and Sanne De Wilde present their prize winning photographic story Land of Ibeji. Complementary images of this exhibition that focuses on twins born in town of  Igbo-Ora in Nigeria will be presented free on De La Commune near McGill street throughout this fall. Photos © Lena Ghio ,  2019
Monia Chokri presents an intimate portrait of her world and those who inhabit it with a series of photographs Crépuscule amour, je te sais intime; L'itinéraire: 25 years of stories recounts in pictures the powerful impact of the written word and meaningful contribution in the life of the homeless who collaborate to the success of the magazine created to assist them: The Faces Behind International Volunteering | Oxfam-Québec | 8th edition celebrates the journey of their volunteers and so much more.

World Press Photo of the Year

I remember the first time I saw the World Press Photo of the Year Crying Girl on the Border.
It was the moment I knew for sure that whatever I believed about the United States; its open heart, its humanity; was no longer there.

What Whitney C. Johnson, Chair of the jury  - World Press Photo 2019,  saw was a complete and coherent story told by details. " The details in the picture are interesting. From the gloves that the border patrol officer is wearing to the fact that the shoelaces have been removed (from the mother's shoes). "

Contemporary Artists At Play, Flirting With Codes, Tricks And Subterfuge  @ Montreal Museum of Fine Arts > June 2020

All you can eat detail Karine Giboulo
A whimsical look at how contemporary art can play with various subjects. Liz Magor whose lifework threads upon the absurdities of human life and consumerism is one of the artists to present a piece in this exhibition. There is also a piece from another one of my favorites Karine Giboulo whose exploration of industrial life in China blew me away!

An important installation by Dominique Blain, Sans titre/protection, 1989,  revisits events from World War I where Museums believed they could never be bombed. They quickly learned the error of their ways after a few of them were strongly attacked. With some authentic pictures of how Museums protected the artworks with sandbags taken from a book by Ugo Ojetti I monumenti italiani e la guerra, Blain recreates a bunker with similar sandbags for us to walk in.
