La Flor

BANDE ANNONCE

HORAIRE

HOW TO MASTER THE STARS • Emerge Art : The Voice of Nature • Sun Biquintile Jupiter Emerge Art Studies

EMERGE ART : The Voice Of Nature

A VERY SPECIAL CHALLENGE

The challenge is to use art with the time of celestial mechanics to channel the healing force of the universe into the heart of Earth.
Let me explain...
• Our ancestors were very preoccupied with maintaining a good relationship with the hidden forces of nature. The universal symbol of this sacred task is the pentagram . This symbol represents their mindset perfectly. The meaning of the pentagram is one branch each for water, fire, air, earth and one for the Spirit that keeps them balanced. It is also the symbol of Human.

• The Emerge Art shown here were done during Sun Biquintile Jupiter and published during Sun in Cancer Biquintile Jupiter in Sagittarius.

The above two Emerge Art were produced as my tablet was placed behind the bowl of water and Google News provided the subject matter to be studied. This, I figured, would be closer to the approach used by the famed Renaissance prophet Nostradamus. In the photos were Robert Muller on the left, Donald Trump in the center and William Barr on the right. The image on top was taken a few minutes after the one right above this comment. We see the expected action of water that refracts what is behind it but it also recomposes astonishing motifs! On top it creates a profile that clearly resembles Fred Trump, Donald Trump's father. Just above, it creates a bird of prey between the faces of Donald Trump and William Barr.

The following Emerge Art were done in April 2018. This study concerned financial freedom. I surrounded the bowl with symbols of wealth including the Hebrew letters of wealth from the Kabbalah.

• I chose a sequence that I could not read per se but that seemed to show energy (IMG_5988.jpg). The images then remind me of an ancient tale but I can't quite put my finger on it. There is a boat ?

• By IMG_6007.jpg the "energy" feature returns.

• IMG_6016.jpg has reversed the position of light and dark, for lack of a more accurate word, from  IMG_5988.jpg. Finally, while the Biquintile was still strong I caught this astonishing formation (upper right and below).

• A totally flamboyant but modern character with blonde hair and a pink jacket!

THE LAST BLACK MAN IN SAN FRANCISCO

TRAILER
This fairy tale like movie is based on a story composed by Jimmie Fails who also plays the lead role and  Joe Talbot who also directs the film and won Best Director for the film at January's Sundance Film Festival. Jonathan Majors is Jimmie's best friend Montgomery Allen and Danny Glover is Grandpa Allen.Although there are a few female characters they are not important to the main characters. My impression is that we got a privileged view into the inner workings of the homosexual psyche. The links to the male relatives is what motivates the quest for Jimmie to somehow get back the home he grew up in that he believes with all his heart was built by his grand-father when he returned from World War II.

At one point Jimmie meets a woman in a streetcar who looks just like him but that he doesn't recognize. She tells him she is his mother. Nothing! No emotion, no recognition, nothing. The emotional bonds are between the male characters except the one cousin who kept the furniture for Jimmie.

The two friends valiantly try to buy this gorgeous house in every way they can as the gorgeous scenery, the luscious music, the dreamy moods flow one on top of the other like misty waves. In the end we discover the truth about the house and we are reminded that none of us can ever go back to what we knew growing up.

Opens this week-end in Montreal.

Louis José Houde est Menteur

Bande Annonce

DISTRIBUTION:
Louis-José Houde (Simon Aubert), Antoine Bertrand (Phil Aubert), Catherine Chabot (Chloé Therrien), Anne-Élisabeth Bossé (Virginie), Geneviève Schmidt (France Gauthier), Véronique Le Flaguais (Claire), Luc Senay (Georges), Patrice Coquereau (Robin), Marie-Lise Pilote (Sandra), Sonia Vachon (Martine), Didier Lucien (Dominic Dufour), Vitali Makarov (Oleg), Denise Filiatrault (Chauffeure UBER), Michel Laperrière (Paul, le voisin)

REBECCA BELMORE  Facing The Monumental
20.06.2019 > 06.10.2019

We were delighted to be invited to a press tour of this summer's Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal's latest exhibition. It came as a surprise because the Museum is undergoing a major transformation and was expected to be closed all summer. Curator Lesley Johnstone used the opportunity of the delay to bring the compelling works of Rebecca Belmoore to the city.

Rebecca Belmoore has been pursuing her practice since 1980. Anishinaabe by birth she has experienced the two world views of many of today's aboriginal artists. She told us at one point that growing up she lived close to the land. However today she has taken a warrior stance against the iniquities of the contemporary world. She employs all manner of medium, substance and performance art to express what she perceives and tell the stories of many disadvantaged people.

One of the powerful themes is the ongoing and extreme violence against aboriginal women. If this were happening in another country we would think their law enforcement officers are either extremely lazy or morons. So many women have disappeared from the same region that it presupposes that there is either 1 or more serial killers or some underworld human trafficking going on. HOW CAN THIS BE!!!!!!

She also explores what is happening with climate change, water, the incompetence of governments to tackle these life and death issues that will affect all of life.

Since the Museum is presenting this marvelous exhibition there  was an option to also include the works of other fascinating artists.

Quebec art duo Chloë Lum & Yannick Desranleau occupy a room with two massive sculptural installations The Face Stayed East The Mouth Went West, 2014 and What Do Stones Smell Like In The Forest?, 2018. These pieces will be inhabited at various times by performance artists, dancers and mezzo-soprano Marie-Annick Béliveau. Check the web site for all the details.

In the basement you may enjoy Ragnar Kjartansson & The National A Lot of Sorrow that was part of the great solo exhibition at the MAC for the artist in 2016.

You will also have the chance to revisit some of the wonderful work of Nadia Myre.

Phoebe Greenberg, Founder and Director of Phi,  introduced the World Premiere art show of the political cartoons produced almost daily by world renowned comedian and film super star Jim Carrey at Phi Centre. Photos © Lena Ghio, 2019
I loved that Phoebe Greenberg, Founder and Director of Phi, had the inspiration and audacity to pull together this truly contemporary way of doing and knowing art. What I mean by that is that although Jim Carrey is a famous actor and comedian he began as an artist. Frustrated by the current politics going on in the US he began producing political cartoons that he posts regularly on Twitter and Instagram @ JimCarrey . I follow him so I was aware of many of these extremely expressive drawings but I was stunned by his very keen perception of who he is drawing.

In the selection of drawings below for example look at the drawing he did of Bill Cosby. It is soooo creepy! As usual every detail has been thought out. You will have access to @JimCarrey, there are videos of the artist at work, and there are copies of his artist statement you can take with you.
Check Phi Centre for all the details, the exhibition runs until 01.09.2019

It is impressive how Jim Carrey captures that elusive element that is behind the masks we all wear in society. I placed these images in concordance with how I understand the art I chose to feature in this article.
