At the movies EVERYONE WILL BURN! by David Hebrero

I watched this well designed horror flick with an open mouth because the twists and turns are stunning.

The film opens with a mysterious, sharply dressed young woman, Maria José played by Macarena Gómez, quivering on the ledge of a bridge. As she decides whether to jump or not, a small girl approaches. The actress playing the child is Sofia Garcia, a young woman. She suffers from achondroplasia and this gives the character of Lucia an even eerier presence. The action starts quickly and is relentless as the people of the small town where Maria José lives become aware of strange happenings that were prophesied many years ago, that evil would come to town and execute an irrepressible revenge onto the townsfolk.

Like all latino tales, this one too is rich in metaphors and symbolism. Cruelty and grief are avenged with the help of the netherworld.

This Spanish film with English subtitles will be in theatres (NYC, LA, Austin) this December 1st, then on digital from December 5th. A scary good time!
